Medical Hair Restoration in Dallas, TX

Hair loss is a medical issue with more than one cause, and the cause determines the treatment. We test thyroid, iron, and hormones before recommending anything, because treating the scalp without knowing why it is thinning is guessing. For men and women.

Treating the Root, Not Just the Scalp.

Hair loss can come from hormonal imbalance, iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, DHT sensitivity, stress, or genetics, and frequently more than one at the same time. Which one you are dealing with changes the treatment entirely.

Because Jessica Boggs, APRN practises hormone and metabolic medicine as her main work, hair loss here is looked at as a systems problem rather than a scalp problem. Treating an underlying thyroid or iron issue often produces results that scalp-only treatment cannot.

"The right treatment starts with understanding why it is happening, not just what to put on the scalp."

Step One
Find the cause

We evaluate hormonal status, thyroid function including free T3 and antibodies, iron studies with ferritin, vitamin D, DHEA-S, and testosterone by mass spectrometry.

Hair answers usually sit in the pattern across markers rather than in one obvious number, which is why a review of the results is worth more than the results alone.

Step Two
Treat what you find

Scalp injections, Celluma Hair LED, compounded topicals, oral therapy, and hormone coordination, chosen based on what your labs actually showed rather than a standard protocol.

If your loss is driven by low ferritin, the answer is iron, not a $750 injection. We will tell you that.

What you should know before starting

Several treatments here are used off-label. Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin are not FDA-approved for hair restoration. Topical finasteride and dutasteride are not FDA-approved for hair loss in any formulation, and finasteride is not FDA-approved for hair loss in women. Off-label prescribing is legal and common when supported by clinical judgment and informed consent.

Compounded preparations are prepared by licensed 503A compounding pharmacies against an individual prescription and are not FDA-approved in the same manner as commercially manufactured drugs. Minoxidil is FDA-approved in its over-the-counter form, but the compounded combinations we prescribe are not.

Celluma is an FDA-cleared LED device. Clearance is a different and lower standard than approval, and the hair program is cleared for specific patterns of loss and Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV. Outside those groups it has not been tested and may not work.

Navara does not prescribe finasteride or dutasteride, including topical formulations, to any woman of childbearing potential without permanent birth control. A baseline PSA is required in men before starting a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, and baseline photographs are taken before treatment begins.

Individual response varies and no specific result can be promised. Most meaningful change is visible at six to twelve months of consistent treatment, not weeks. Treatment eligibility is determined at your consultation and is not guaranteed in advance.

Prices shown are what you pay for those services. Programs are purchased up front. Compounded prescription costs vary by formulation and are provided at the time of prescribing. Prices are subject to change. Navara Health is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance. Financing is available through Cherry. See also men's hair loss and women's hair loss.

What Patients Ask Most

Do I really need labs first?
We strongly recommend them, and here is why. Hair loss is frequently driven by thyroid function, iron status, or hormones, and each one points to a different treatment. If your loss is coming from low ferritin, the answer is iron, not a $750 injection, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the injection. The Hair Restoration Evaluation is $349 and covers the panel, your consultation and a visit to go through the results.
What is the difference between a program and booking sessions individually?
The Hair Restore PRP Series at $2,295 covers three PRP treatments, scalp microneedling, the Celluma Hair LED protocol and a 12-week reassessment, purchased up front. PRF releases growth factors more gradually and costs more to prepare, so the PRF version is $2,595. Booking the same three PRP sessions, the scalp microneedling and the LED separately comes to $2,572. Hair Restore Elite at $2,895 extends that to six months with nine LED sessions, medical management and progress visits.
Are these treatments FDA-approved?
Several are not, and you should know that before you start. PRP and PRF are not FDA-approved for hair restoration. Topical finasteride and dutasteride are not FDA-approved for hair loss, and finasteride is not FDA-approved for hair loss in women at all. These are prescribed off-label, which is legal and common when supported by clinical judgment and informed consent. Minoxidil is FDA-approved over the counter, though the compounded combinations we prescribe are not. Celluma is FDA-cleared, which is a different and lower standard than approval.
How long before I see results?
Six to twelve months of consistent treatment for meaningful change. Hair grows slowly and follicles respond slowly, so anyone promising visible results in six weeks is describing something else. Early on, the realistic goal is stopping further loss rather than regrowth. We will tell you honestly at each follow-up whether what we are doing is working.
What is the difference between PRP and PRF for the scalp?
Both come from your own blood. PRP uses an anticoagulant and stays liquid, releasing growth factors relatively quickly. PRF is spun without additives so it clots into a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors gradually over several days and retains more white blood cells. For scalp work that sustained release is a real argument for PRF. Your provider will recommend which suits your situation.
Do you treat women as well as men?
Yes, and the workup is different. Female pattern loss more often involves thyroid, iron, and hormonal contributors, and some treatments used in men are not appropriate for women at all. Navara does not prescribe finasteride or dutasteride, including topical formulations, to any woman of childbearing potential without permanent birth control.
Where does Celluma Hair LED fit in?
It is included in both programs and is available on its own at $49 a session, $249 for six and $399 for twelve, for patients who want light therapy without injections. Navara uses the professional Celluma NOVA Hair Growth protocol, which is not the same as general red light therapy. The hair program is FDA-cleared for specific patterns of loss and Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV, so it does not fit everyone.
How many PRP sessions will I need?
Typically three to four sessions one month apart, then maintenance every six to twelve months. Most patients do this inside the Hair Restore PRP Series. Your provider will give you a realistic number after seeing your pattern of loss and your labs rather than selling a package that assumes more than you need.
