Semaglutide in Dallas, TX
Brand-name Wegovy (semaglutide) paid directly to NovoCare, with a Start Visit from $199 and management at $99 a month after that. Or a compounded preparation from $199 a month when there is a clinical reason for one. Prescribed and titrated by Jessica Boggs, APRN, with labs and real follow-up rather than an automatic refill.
What It Is
A GLP-1 That Changes How Full You Feel.
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It slows gastric emptying, signals fullness earlier, and reduces the constant background pull toward food that patients describe as the hardest part of eating less. That last effect is the one patients tend to notice first.
It is a prescription medication, not a supplement, and it works best alongside adequate protein, resistance training, and sleep. We will talk about all three, because losing weight without protecting muscle is a poor trade.
Wegovy is FDA-approved for chronic weight management. Available through NovoCare Pharmacy at $349 a month self-pay, considerably less than retail. Insurance may reduce it further, and we submit prior authorizations on your behalf.
You pay the manufacturer directly for medication. Our fee covers the clinical care around it: your evaluation, labs, titration, side effect management, and follow-up.
Prescribed when there is a specific clinical reason, most commonly a dose or dosing schedule the commercial product cannot deliver, or a formulation needing something added such as B vitamins.
It is a decision made for you at your visit, documented in your chart, and filled by a licensed 503A pharmacy against your individual prescription. From $199 a month.
Important notice about compounded semaglutide
Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved and is not the same as Wegovy (semaglutide) or Ozempic. It is prepared by a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy against an individual prescription and has not undergone FDA review for safety, efficacy, or manufacturing quality.
Individual results vary and no specific outcome is promised. All prescribing follows a thorough medical evaluation, and eligibility is not guaranteed.
Semaglutide or Tirzepatide
The Honest Comparison
This is the question almost everyone asks and almost nobody answers straight. Both are effective. They are not identical.
Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Tirzepatide acts on GLP-1 and GIP. In head-to-head trial data, the dual mechanism has produced greater average weight loss.
Trial averages describe populations. Plenty of people do extremely well on semaglutide and would gain nothing by switching. Response is individual, which is why we titrate rather than assume.
Semaglutide is generally the less expensive path here, at $199 compounded or $349 brand versus $299 and $299 respectively for tirzepatide. Over a year that difference is real.
Nausea, reflux, and constipation are common with both, usually worst during dose increases. Some people tolerate one noticeably better than the other, and that is a legitimate reason to change.
Wegovy® (semaglutide) · paid to Novo Nordisk, not to Navara
Self-pay pricing through NovoCare Pharmacy. One month is one box of four pens, a 28-day supply, shipped free.
| Dose | Per month |
|---|---|
| 0.25mg and 0.5mg, first two fills | $199 |
| 0.25mg through 2.4mg, after that | $349 |
| Wegovy® HD (semaglutide) 7.2mg | $399 |
The $199 introductory price applies to patients new to the NovoCare program and runs through 31 December 2026. Patients with Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE or VA coverage are excluded from these manufacturer savings programs. Prices verified 28 September 2026 and set by Novo Nordisk, who can change them at any time.
Our position. we start patients on semaglutide unless there is a reason not to, and we move to tirzepatide if response stalls or tolerance is poor. Starting on the more expensive option to look aggressive is not clinical care. Switching is straightforward and we will suggest it when it is warranted.

Semaglutide Pricing
Medication pricing is monthly and based on dosage tier. Your provider recommends the starting tier from your history and goals. Available in clinic in Dallas and by virtual care in 9 states.
You pay the manufacturer directly for the medication. Wegovy (semaglutide) self-pay through NovoCare Pharmacy currently starts around $349 a month depending on your dose, and that money goes to Novo Nordisk, not to us. Insurance may reduce it further. We do not mark up brand-name medication and we do not take a cut of it. Our fee above covers the clinical care around it, and nothing else. You are paying for evaluation, monitoring, dose decisions and refill authorization, not for a prescription. What we prescribe is always a clinical decision. Labs are not included in brand-name management and are priced separately.
Brand-name refill policy, please read
Wegovy (semaglutide) self-pay pricing through NovoCare requires refills be completed within 45 days of your previous supply to maintain the lowest price tier.
To protect your pricing, submit your refill request at least 7 business days before day 38 of your current supply. Monthly management patients are contacted before that window opens, so in practice you should not have to track it yourself. That gives us time to review and send it, and the pharmacy time to process and ship before your window closes. Requests received later may result in a supply gap or loss of self-pay eligibility.
